Under Construction
The historic brick house from the 1920s will be expanded to integrate with the original building and a 1990s rear addition. We provided full architectural and interior design services, preserving the foyer and entrance WC, with minor updates to street-facing bedrooms and minimal alterations to the Street and side facades.
The historic brick house, dating back to the 1920s, shares its neighborhood with several similar structures from the same era. Our expansion project aims to seamlessly integrate with the original building.
Our clients, a couple in their mid-40s with two children, seek a versatile and comfortable space that can adapt to their evolving family needs over the years.
The majority of the house will undergo extensive renovation, preserving the foyer and entrance WC. Minor updates are planned for the two bedrooms facing the street. The facades along Oak Street and the sides will undergo minimal alterations, primarily involving minor reconfigurations. While the original load-bearing walls will remain in place, the rear facade will be removed and replaced with a sturdy steel frame, leaving portions exposed in the kitchen and master bathroom. We will maximize the use of the existing structure, and a reconfiguration of the current staircase will optimize the efficiency of the ground floor, especially the living room.
